Javier Milei is the hope libertarians needed
His victory is proof that libertarianism is not dead yet.
By now, we should know that Javier Milei is the world’s first libertarian anarcho-capitalist economist turned president. His victory and swearing-in last year was global news. Under his leadership, Argentina achieved its first monthly budget surplus in 12 years—a clear sign of their government’s departure from Peronism, a left-wing populist fascist ideology.
Culturally speaking, this guy is fucking crazy. I love it. I want to find a way to blowdart him, clip some hair and maybe a toenail, to clone him at least 50 times— one for each state in America.
The closest shot we have to Milei leading up to the election is Trump, but not for principled libertarianism—but rather for American conservativism, selfish pleasure, and narcissistic vengeance. Screw it; I’ll take it. This country sits on a rotten foundation and I want a wrecking ball.
The rising success of American libertarian content creators and Javier Milei down in Argentina inspired me to study this budding libertarian populism. Free Mavericks’s goal is to do that and hone it to be culture war-proof.
The right gave up so much ground to the left so many decades ago and it cost us dearly. Right-wing liberalism is on life support and I’m concerned that conservatives will continue to feed into the turnkey totalitarianism developing before us. The left is doing the same, it’s just that when the right does it—it’s done in response to the left’s insanity. This is the right’s chance to recapture the country and libertarians should be leading the charge like Milei did.
